No I’m not quitting my job. I actually really like it. It’s been two weeks now since moving to NC and I thought I’d give a brief update.
My new job is good. The agency is a lot smaller than I expected but we service a lot of clients, so I’ve had to jump in with both feet. I’ve started seeing clients and building up my case load and already have some crazy stories- most of which I can’t share because it’s a very small town and someone will probably recognize the people in them.
I am still staying with a family friend, Grandma Jean, in the pink seashell room. I’ve begun looking at apartments and am quickly realizing that I took my apartment in Chicago for granted. “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” That’s so true.
When looking in the classifieds, and even on Craigslist, I have to weed through the trailers for rent, or “Pre-manufactured homes” as I have seen them referred to. Needless to say I’m still looking for a place of my own.
I’ve basically been living out of a suitcase, between Grandma Jean’s and my parents. And it’s awesome. I’m loving that I get to see my family so often and be a part of the every day activities. And being close to PW is amazing. He drove down and took me out to dinner last week, on a real date!
Life is good here in Hendersonville. The mountains are breathtaking and the fall leaves are indescribable. More than anything I’m being reminded that God has this big plan for my life, and although I only see bits and pieces of it at a time, I know it’s good. And that makes me excited.
